# Cancelling an Event
Sometimes it so happens that an event can't be pursued further e.g. unavailability of key resources, lack of clarity in purpose of event or event may seem irrelevant after some time. In these cases the events need to be moved to a logical conclusion i.e. cancel an event. One can always create a new event or duplicate this event if in future when the situation is favourable.
NOTE
- You can't cancel an event that is in
ongoingverifiedorcompletedstate. - It is important to specify the reason for cancelling an event in the
Discussionssection before you cancel an event.
