In this section you will know more about how to configure few settings available at portal level.
# Configuring Portal Settings
Currently all the portal settings are not configurable from the UI. The following settings can be discussed while deploying the portal for the first time.
# Who Can Perform This Task?
- Portal Administrator
# Event Coordinator can edit event status
By default an event coordinator can only move an event status from ONGOING to VERIFIED. This is done to ensure that event administrator will have full control over the event's happening. However, sometimes event administrators may not be able to engage in day to day activities of multiple events. This feature allows event coordinators to work with event status and manage all day to day activities and requires event administrator involvement only for the final approval stage i.e. VERIFIED to COMPLETED.
# Event Coordinator can create new events
An extension to the above feature, event coordinators are further empowered to create new events with or without informing event administrators and engage event administrator only at the time of final approval state i.e. VERIFIED to COMPLETED. In this feature, event coordinator has to mandatorily select an event administrator while creating new events. By enabling this setting event coordinators roles and responsibilities are closer to event administrator. However, the following key differences still exist
- Event Coordinator still has to register for an event even if it is created by them to be able to do certain tasks expected of event coordinator. However, event administrator can add all the tasks without registering for any event that is assigned to them.
- Event Administrator still has approval rights and is the owner of the event even for those events that are not explicitly created by him/her.
- Event Administrator can still modify event coordinator for any event that is assigned to him/her at any time.
