# Manage Your Account

Every volunteer in the portal has an account that they can manage to get the best experience from the portal

In this section you will learn how to

# Create an Account

To volunteer for events, you must create an account. You will then become a member of the organization.

# Who Can Perform This Task?

  • Anyone who accesses the volunteering portal

# Procedure:

  1. Access the volunteering portal at https://volunteer.hysea.in
  2. In the upper-right corner of the page, select Sign In button.
    CREATE AN ACCOUNT dialog window will appear now.
  3. Now select Register Now link.

TIP

Alternatively, you can scroll down to the volunteering dashboard (at the end of the page), and then select Register Now button.

  1. Enter values in the available fields. The fields marked * are mandatory. The password must contain at least 6 characters.
  2. Choose the organization you are representing. Please choose Individual if you do not want to be associated with any organization while volunteering with us.

NOTE

If the organization you wish to represent is not available in the choices, please contact someone from the Support Matrix

In the meanwhile, please choose Individual as the option and continue account creation process. You can always update your profile at a later stage.

  1. Read and accept Terms and Conditions
  2. Select Register.
    You are now a registered member of the portal. You will receive a welcome email, stating that your account has been created.
  3. A unique volunteer id will be assigned to you and it will be used to identify you at all places in the portal.

# Procedure

  1. Open the portal at https://volunteer.hysea.in
  2. Click on the Sign In button at the top right corner in the portal.
  3. The LOGIN VIA EMAIL dialog window will appear.
  4. Enter your email address and password which have supplied during account creation and click on LOGIN.
  5. After successful login, the window will disappear and you will be presented with your personal home page.
  6. Your profile details will be shown in My Profile section when you scroll down the home page. Alternatively, you can click on My Profile menu item.

TIP

  • Once you signin to the portal on a device, your login information will be saved on the device until next signout or until a timeout. So you do not have to logout and login to the portal everytime to access some information on the portal.

# Before You Begin:

# Procedure

  1. Hover on the top right corner where signin button used to be there prior to your login
  2. You will see the following
    • Your Profile Picture if set
    • Your Full Name
    • Your registered email address
    • Your unique volunteer id
    • Your current role in the portal
  3. Go to My Profile section in the home page
  4. Here you will see all your profile related information
  5. Click on Update button.
    You will now see your profile in editable mode.
  6. Update the existing values in the form e.g.
    • First Name and Last Name
    • Organization you are representing. Choose Individual if you do not want to associate yourself with any organization while volunteering.
    • Choose an appropriate profile picture
    • Specify email notification preferences if any. By default, you will receive notifications of events from all categories.
  7. Choose Save after you are done with editing.

# Change Your Password

# Before You Begin:

# Procedure

  1. Hover on your profile picture in the top right corner of the portal
  2. Click on Change Email/Password menu item
  3. Supply your current password in the form
  4. After successful login you will be presented with two options
    • Change Your Password
    • Change Your Email Address
  5. Choose the Change Your Password option
  6. Enter New password in the two fields and click on UPDATE.
  7. Now you will be logged out of the portal and an email will be sent to you.
  8. You can now signin again to the portal with your new password

# Change Your Email Address

# Who Can Perform This Task?

  • All members of the portal

# Before You Begin:

# Procedure

  1. Hover on your profile picture in the top right corner of the portal
  2. Click on Change Email/Password menu item
  3. Enter your current password in the form to sign in once again.
  4. After successful login you will be presented with two options
    • Change Your Password
    • Change Your Email Address
  5. Choose the Change Your Email Address option
  6. Enter Your new email address in the text box and click on UPDATE.
  7. Now you will be logged out of the portal and an email will be sent to you.
  8. You can now signin again to the portal with your new email address and with your old password.

NOTE

Note that all the existing events for which you have already registered will still be linked to your old email address only. The updated email address will be used in new event registrations or new notification emails.

We recommend that you change your email address only when you are not actively participating in any event.

# Reset Your Password?

# Who Can Perform This Task?

  • All members of the portal who have forgotten their password and unable to login to the portal

# Procedure

  1. Open the volunteer portal https://volunteer.hysea.in
  2. Click on the Sign In button at the top right corner
    • The LOGIN VIA EMAIL dialog will open up now.
  3. Click on Click Here link at the bottom of the dialog
  4. Enter your email address with which you used to login to the portal in the RESET PASSWORD screen.
  5. Click on RESET button
  6. You will be receiving an email with instructions on how to reset your password.
  7. Follow the instructions and set a new password.
  8. Open the portal again and you can now sign in with your email address and new password.
